Privacy Policy
This policy describes the current intended product behavior. The site owner should obtain qualified legal review for the jurisdictions and business entity that actually apply before accepting new paid customers.
What we collect
When you use Plant Doctor, we process the photo you choose, the plant name you provide or confirm, requested language, generated guidance, IP-derived usage key, and technical request information. If you subscribe or create a membership, we process your email, language, membership status, payment provider, campaign attribution, and delivery status. Payment-card details are handled by Stripe or PayPal and are not intended to be stored by Garden with Serge. Support requests may contain information you choose to provide.
How information is used
We use information to provide plant-photo guidance, enforce usage limits, activate memberships, deliver requested email, process support/cancellation/refund requests, secure and troubleshoot the service, and measure aggregate service performance. We do not promise that AI output is correct.
Service providers
Plant photos and prompts may be sent to OpenAI to generate guidance. Payments may be processed by Stripe or PayPal. Email may be delivered through Brevo. Hosting, database, and analytics providers process the minimum information needed for their functions. Their own terms and privacy policies also apply.
Retention and security
We aim to retain personal data only as long as needed for the stated purpose, legal obligations, security, dispute resolution, and backup cycles. Exact production retention periods and deletion-from-backup procedures must be finalized and documented before paid launch. We use access controls and transport encryption, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe through the link in marketing email. You may request access, correction, or deletion through the contact page. Some billing and transaction records may need to be retained where legally required. Do not upload a photo containing people, addresses, documents, or other personal information.
Cookies, email measurement, and analytics
The site uses a member cookie for access and local browser storage for language and usage display. It currently uses first-party operational analytics rather than Google Analytics. Human-facing document requests, successful or unsuccessful AI operations, and server errors are counted in aggregate. Aggregate acquisition reports may include a normalized campaign label, general source category, and landing-page path; they do not retain full referring URLs. Daily visitor estimates use a keyed, daily rotating hash derived from limited request data; the analytics tables do not store raw IP addresses, email addresses, plant photos, diagnosis text, or payment data. Newsletter delivery status and clicks on first-party campaign links may be recorded against an internal subscriber identifier so we can avoid duplicate messages and understand which gardening help is useful; we do not use an email-open tracking pixel. Visitor estimates, acquisition attribution, and newsletter click measurement are skipped when a browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track. Visitor hashes are deleted after 90 days. Applicable privacy and consent requirements must be reviewed before adding third-party analytics or expanding promotion.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should supervise use by minors.
