AI Limitations and Safe Use

Last updated: August 29, 2026

AI guidance is not a verified diagnosis. It can misidentify a plant, confuse environmental stress with disease, overlook multiple problems, or suggest unsuitable care.

Photo limitations

Lighting, focus, scale, season, image compression, hidden roots, multiple plants, and visually similar symptoms can all change the result. A photo often cannot establish the organism or underlying cause.

When to get local help

Use a local extension service or qualified professional for valuable specimens, rapidly spreading disease, quarantine or invasive-species concerns, pesticide decisions, edible crops, and recurring problems. Contact a veterinarian or poison-control resource for possible toxicity exposure involving people or animals.

Treatments

Do not apply chemicals solely because the AI suggested them. Identify the plant and problem, read and follow the complete product label, confirm local legality, protect pollinators and waterways, and use the least harmful effective approach.

Uncertainty

If the service cannot determine a result, it should say so. A fluent answer or numeric confidence is not proof of correctness. Garden with Serge does not currently claim a validated accuracy percentage.

Reporting a concern

If guidance appears unsafe or incorrect, stop using it and report it through Contact. Do not include sensitive personal information or payment details.
